Abstract

Las tecnologías digitales están siempre presentes en la vida cotidiana. La preocupación por la aparición de patrones de uso problemático en niños ha impulsado la creación de instrumentos para su evaluación, pero aún faltan herramientas validadas en Argentina. El objetivo fue desarrollar y validar una escala breve para evaluar indicadores de uso problemático de tecnología en niños argentinos. Participaron 323 niños (edad M = 10.33, DE = 0.86) entre 8 y 12 años. La escala se compone de 9 ítems, agrupados en un único factor según análisis factoriales exploratorio y confirmatorio. Se hallaron evidencias de adecuada consistencia interna (α = .87), y de validez de criterio mediante asociaciones con frecuencia y tiempo de uso de tecnologías, compromiso escolar, desempeño académico, habilidades socioemocionales y sintomatología psicopatológica. Se aportan evidencias de validez y confiabilidad de una escala breve para la detección de indicadores de uso problemático de tecnología en niños argentinos.
