El negativo de la epilepsia: un ejercicio intelectual de ciencia-ficción

Históricamente han sido muchos los esfuerzos destinados al estudio y tratamiento de la
Epilepsia, entendiéndola de manera general como una manifestación patológica, propia de una enfermedad. Se pretende crear en el presente ensayo un espacio de reflexión destinado a pensar esta admitida “patologÃa†más bien como una función protectora del organismo con un cierto valor biológico. Se aportan argumentos que apuntan a que el cuadro en sà no necesariamente constituye manifestación de muerte, daño o deterioro de funciones a nivel neuronal o cognitivo.

Sumary
Many have been the efforts throughout the history, for the study and treatment of
Epilepsy, which has been categorized generally, as a pahological manifestation of a disease. In this essay , the author pretends to create a theoretical exersise space, destined to think of this admitted "pathology" more like a biological protective function with a certain value. The arguments explained, aim to the fact that Epilepsy is not necessarily a manifestation of death, damage or deterioration of neuronal or cognitive functions.
